Also, a clogged fuel filter causes rough idling. Clogged filters are another common cause of rough idling.Replace any damaged or broken sections of hose, available at most auto parts stores, and your rough idling will more than likely disappear. Look in your engine compartment, and examine the hoses carefully for any signs of abrasion, breaking or loosening. This is a very common problem since hoses wear out over time. To answer your question, I do plan on doing the work. In the meantime I've been cleaning, detailing and fixing a few odds & ends here & there to get it ready to sell. As of now everything I need to replace has been removed (Timing belt, idler & tensioner pulleys and the water pump) I am waiting on parts I ordered on Ebay to arrive, should be here on the 25th (belt and pulley kit $62 shipped, water pump $42). I bought the Kia, towed it home and started working on it. She said she called a mobile mechanic to look at it and he confirmed the belt was broke and told her it has an interferance engine and the valves were damaged also and possibly the pistons. After getting a few more details from her it turns out the timing belt broke. After looking at the book value ($5000-$6000) I decided it would be a good way to make a little money, even if I had to replace the engine.
